Frequently Asked Questions - 300-hour Option!

Got questions? We got answers! Below are answers to some of our frequently asked questions. For other questions, send us a note at [email protected].

Q. What if I can't attend all the weekend sessions?

A. You will be able to make up a limited number of missed hours by watching the recordings. We encourage you to be at the live sessions to get the most out of the course, however, some absences are permitted. For graduation, a total of 85% of the material has to be completed, either live or via watching the recording.  If you know in advance that you will have a conflict for a number of the live weekends, please contact us at [email protected] so we can make sure that you will be able to meet the minimum attendance requirements.

Q. How long will I retain access to the course materials in the course portal?

A. The course materials will stay up in the course portal indefinitely, and your access does not expire.

Q. How long does it take to finish the training?

A. The live portion of the training takes 12 months. After that, if you still need to finish some of the additional recorded sessions, you can proceed at your own pace to complete those.

Q. Do I get a certificate at the end of the program?

Yes, you get a full Yoga Alliance RYT-300 certificate as well as a certification as a Yoga 2.0 Wellness Educator at the 300-hour level.

Q.  Is the weekend intensive with Tom Myers included in the price or do I need to pay extra?

A. Yes, the  weekend intensive is included in the course price. Due to the situation with the pandemic, we will offer it as a live streaming event.

Q. Are the modules rolled out over time or available all at once?

A. Modules 1-3 are available right away. Each subsequent module is added to your course at
2 week intervals.

Q. Is this program geared toward teaching courses in larger studios or would it also be useful for solo yoga teachers?

A. The program is suitable both for people who teach as part of studios and for solo yoga teachers who prefer to set up their own teaching practice. It's perhaps more suited for the latter, because it caters to the wellness audience, which typically don't find what they are looking for in the traditional yoga studio setting, whether online or not.

That being said, if the marketing is done right (targeting a different audience than the usual studio set), the program can be of great benefit to those teaching via a studio as well, in terms of tapping into a market the studio doesn't normally reach.

However, for individual teachers, one of the great benefits of the program is that you gain much greater independence and more options in terms of where you teach, depending on your preference.

Q. Is the 300-hour course an RYT course recognized by the Yoga Alliance?

A. Yes. The 300-hour option is a full 300-hour RYT option, which qualifies you as a RYT-500, if you are already a RYT-200 yoga teacher.

Q.  I'm considering the 300 hour online course Yoga 2.0 Wellness Educator Professional training, but I already have several 300 hour YTT trainings. I'm wondering what the difference is between the RYT-300 hour option and the Self Study option?

A. The main differences between the two tracks are the number of course hours included and the proportion of live vs. recorded material.

The Self Study option contains about 100 hours of recorded material - about 100 hours of online video material, plus six live mentoring sessions with Lynn Crimando.

In the RYT-300 track, you are part of a cohort and get to study live with Julie Gudmestad, Lynn Crimando and Tom Myers. You will participate in twelve live, interactive weekends via Zoom.

The weekends include practice teaching in breakout rooms to enhance learning and help you integrate it into your teaching. Between the weekends, you will do about six hours of homework via in the Course Portal to prepare for the weekends. It makes for more in-depth learning, and most people really enjoy being part of a Sangha of likeminded yoga teachers.

Q. I already have a RYT-300 and just want to learn to teach in courses and a private series. Do you have a course where I can just learn that?

A. The Yoga 2.0 Wellness Educator course prepares you to teach in courses and in private series by giving you all the in-depth knowledge and skills about the course topics you will be teaching.

This isn’t knowledge you will find in a regular yoga teacher training, and it’s not available in a book or online. You can’t really teach in courses or privates without first learning yourself and acquiring the skills and knowledge you will be teaching to others.

For example, the Private Series is based on Julie Gudmestad’s Anatomy-Based Yoga Teaching Methodology. So it teaches you how to observe musculoskeletal imbalances in students and then structure practices suited to address those specific imbalances. The first five months of the program are dedicated to teach you the skills you need to teach privates, and after that the focus is on teaching you the knowledge and skills you need to teach two specific courses. Once you have all of that, you will be ready to create your own course, which is part of the final project.
